Terms of service.

Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 26, 2026

These Terms of Service govern use of the CRUXetFABER Woodworks website and purchases made through the CRUXetFABER Woodworks online store.

By accessing this website, placing an order, or purchasing a product through the website, you agree to these Terms of Service.

Throughout these Terms, “CRUXetFABER,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to CRUXetFABER Woodworks.

1. Online Store

CRUXetFABER Woodworks sells handmade and small-production woodworking products, furniture, home goods, and related merchandise.

Some products are completed and ready to ship. Others may be made after an order is placed.

Product availability, specifications, pricing, and estimated lead times may vary.

We reserve the right to discontinue products, change product specifications, limit quantities, or refuse an order when reasonably necessary.

2. Handmade Products

Many CRUXetFABER products are made individually rather than produced through mass manufacturing.

Minor differences between pieces are therefore expected and are part of the character of handmade work.

Measurements stated on the website are intended to be reasonably accurate, but minor variations may occur as a result of hand fabrication, finishing, sanding, wood movement, and the characteristics of natural materials.

3. Natural Materials

Wood is a natural material and varies in:

  • Grain

  • Figure

  • Color

  • Texture

  • Mineral coloration

  • Knots and natural inclusions

  • Density

  • Natural movement

Product photographs represent the general appearance of the item, but an individual product may not exactly match the photographs unless the listing specifically identifies the photographed item as the exact piece being purchased.

Differences resulting from natural wood characteristics are not manufacturing defects.

Wood may also darken, lighten, or otherwise change color over time due to oxidation, ultraviolet light, use, and environmental conditions.

4. Pricing

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

We attempt to keep all prices and descriptions accurate. If a substantial pricing or listing error occurs, we may cancel the affected transaction and refund any amount charged rather than being required to fulfill an obviously erroneous listing.

Applicable taxes and shipping charges will be displayed during checkout when required.

5. Payment

Payment is due according to the terms displayed at checkout.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors. CRUXetFABER Woodworks does not necessarily receive or retain complete credit-card or bank-account information used by those processors.

An order is not considered accepted until payment authorization has been received and the order has been confirmed.

We may cancel or refuse transactions reasonably suspected of fraud, payment misuse, pricing error, inventory error, or other unlawful activity.

6. Made-to-Order Products

A product identified as “made to order,” “custom,” or similar wording will not necessarily be immediately available for shipment.

Any stated production period is an estimate rather than a guarantee unless CRUXetFABER expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Because woodworking depends on material availability, finishing conditions, curing times, and other variables, reasonable changes in production schedules may occasionally occur.

If a significant delay occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer.

7. Custom Orders

Custom products may require separate approval of specifications, drawings, dimensions, materials, or other details.

The customer is responsible for reviewing and approving those specifications before production begins.

Changes requested after approval may:

  • Increase the price;

  • Extend the completion date;

  • Require additional materials; or

  • Be impossible after fabrication has reached a particular stage.

Custom-order deposits or payments may become non-refundable after materials have been purchased or fabrication has begun.

If a separate written custom-order agreement, proposal, or contract exists, that document controls in the event of a conflict with these general website Terms.

8. Shipping

Shipping options and charges are displayed during checkout when available.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.

CRUXetFABER Woodworks is not responsible for delays resulting from an incorrect address supplied by the customer.

Estimated delivery dates provided by shipping carriers are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.

Risk associated with a lost or damaged shipment will be handled in accordance with applicable law, carrier procedures, and the CRUXetFABER Return & Refund Policy.

If shipment cannot occur within the promised or legally required timeframe, we will provide any notice or options required by applicable law.

9. Inspection Upon Delivery

Customers should inspect packages and products promptly after delivery.

Visible shipping damage, manufacturing defects, missing products, or incorrect shipments should be reported according to the CRUXetFABER Woodworks Return & Refund Policy.

10. Returns and Refunds

Returns, exchanges, cancellations, and refunds are governed by our separate Return & Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Product Care

Customers are responsible for following care instructions provided with a product or published by CRUXetFABER Woodworks.

Solid wood and wood products should generally be protected from:

  • Prolonged exposure to standing water

  • Excessive moisture

  • Excessive dryness

  • Extreme heat

  • Dishwashers unless expressly identified as dishwasher-safe

  • Microwave ovens

  • Harsh cleaning chemicals

  • Improper storage

Cutting boards and similar products may require periodic maintenance with an appropriate food-safe board oil or conditioner.

Failure to properly maintain a product can shorten its useful life and is not considered a manufacturing defect.

12. Intended Use

Products should be used only for their reasonably intended purpose.

CRUXetFABER Woodworks is not responsible for damage or injury resulting from unreasonable misuse, improper installation by others, unauthorized modification, improper maintenance, or use for a purpose for which the product was not designed.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Website Content

Unless otherwise stated, the photographs, written material, product designs, graphics, branding, logos, and other original content appearing on this website belong to CRUXetFABER Woodworks or are used with permission.

Website content may not be reproduced, republished, sold, distributed, or commercially exploited without permission except as allowed by law.

14. User Conduct

You agree not to use this website to:

  • Violate applicable law;

  • Attempt unauthorized access to the website or associated systems;

  • Transmit malicious software;

  • Interfere with normal website operation;

  • Commit fraud;

  • Misrepresent your identity in connection with a transaction; or

  • Infringe the rights of CRUXetFABER Woodworks or another person.

15. Third-Party Services

Our website may use or link to third-party services such as website hosting, payment processing, shipping, analytics, social-media platforms, or other service providers.

Those services may operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

CRUXetFABER Woodworks is not responsible for independent third-party websites or services that are outside our control.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, products and website services are provided subject to the descriptions and warranties expressly stated by CRUXetFABER Woodworks.

We do not guarantee that the website will always operate without interruption, error, or temporary unavailability.

Nothing in these Terms eliminates warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, CRUXetFABER Woodworks will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising solely from the use or inability to use this website or a product.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.

18. Construction, Remodeling, and Professional Services

These website Terms primarily govern online store transactions and website use.

Carpentry, cabinetry installation, remodeling, construction, commissioned furniture, on-site work, and other services performed under a written estimate, proposal, contract, change order, or similar agreement are governed by those documents.

Nothing contained in these website Terms replaces or modifies a signed construction or service agreement unless expressly stated in writing.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law or another jurisdiction's non-waivable consumer-protection law applies.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The current version will be published on this website with its effective or last-updated date.

Changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise permitted by law.
