This vanity needed to be suspended between two walls with an eight-inch gap between the bottom and the floor. The sink was designed to sit in the center, with the plumbing being hidden behind a removable center shelf. The center shelf was made from maple and put together using half-blind dovetails. This was done because of its purpose of being removeable. The half-blind dovetail is a very strong joint and will not loosen over time. The drawer faces were each made from a single piece of oak. The radius shape in the drawer face was done by hand. The majority of the piece uses joinery instead of screws or nails, with the only screws used to secure the stringers.
